Fire with Fire. (A letter to America)

I woke up this morning and the first thing I saw was a video on the police victims of the Dallas shooting on Facebook. In turn I had to write something, because it really got to me and I couldn’t get back to sleep without saying something:

“Fighting fire with fire will only set the world ablaze …

Look deeper into the picture and realise that this isn’t all about racism, the world needs to band together and do something about Americas gun laws, seeing as though they won’t do anything about it themselves. Mandela was in-prisoned and the world stopped, looked at South Africa and raised a case everywhere. This problem is on a similar level, so we know we as a world have the power to do something, history suggests.

Secondly we need to re educate the police department, if the suspect doesn’t have a gun, police men would have no reason to pull theirs out (if they even needed to carry one) to deal with a situation.

But hell in saying this, if America isn’t going to sort out its shit even after we’d try to help, let’s focus our energy on places around the world who actually need help, not the percentage of Americans who are that friend that knows theirs an issue but still doesn’t change.

I still don’t know what it will take, all I know is that since my nephew and niece came into this world, I’ve been trying to figure out how I can leave and they not have to deal with the bullshit that is this world at this moment.”

Hopefully we realise as a people that we do have power.
